Cats
Among my photos from Jerusalem
is one of a cat in the old city. I don't know anything more about
this cat, except that it looked very good among those stones.
Phoenix
Phoenix is my parents' cat, and lives with them in Brookline, MA.
These photos were taken in 1993, when he was still a kitten. He's
grown up now, and gotten bigger, but remains cute and playful. He
hasn't gotten much smarter, though. There's a photo of Phoenix's
owners (my parents) in the people
section of the photo collection.
Tuli
When my brother and I lived with our mother in Newton, MA, we got a
cat from the MSPCA and named her Tuli. She was in poor health at
first, but from the beginning she was one of the cutest cats I have
ever seen. As she grew up, she developed wonderfully soft fur
(calling it "plush" would be a real understatement), and also turned
out to be really smart, even for a cat. She learned, more or less,
about 10 Hebrew words, including the word for "pea" which was her
favorite food. Tuli mysteriously vanished in 1993, at age 7.
Tuli's Family
Tuli was spayed, as required by the MSPCA. We thought it would be a
shame not to let her pass her genes on, so we let her have one litter
first. Six kittens were born, but three were stillborn. The other
three grew up healthy, cute, and smart. There were two males, Shegi
and Cushi, and one female, Dubi. Tuli's family, like Tuli herself, do
not meow much (if at all), but do make some pretty interesting
trilling sounds.
