At least, if the Giant Pavement-Ripping Steam-Mining Buldozers are any indication, the Neverending Construction Crew has temporarily abandoned its usual site near the bus shelter. Perhaps they've now succeeded in mining the entire rich vein of underground steam there? Or maybe they want to try a fresh patch of sidewalk. Seriously, though, hasn't anyone at physical plant sat up and asked "Why are we constantly working on the steam pipes near Usdan?" Oh, wait, I forgot, this is BRANDEIS... ------ "If you have been collecting newspapers, and want to recycling them..." "If you have been collecting newspapers, and want to recycle it..." ---Student for Environment Actioning, or whatever. And, yes, these are real signs. The first one is in the mailroom, the second is (I think) out behind Usdan. These people got into Brandeis? And yet already this heating season, there have been at least two major failures like this that I know of. With cheap construction like this, we'll all come back for our 25th reunion and find a heap of rubble..well decorated with signs proclaiming "The Irving and Hilda Schwartzbein Memorial Rubble Heap" and "The Leibowitz-Schultzberg-Goldfein Student Mixed Materials Physical Plant Facility." Is nobody at this university thinking beyond two months from now? Wait a second...there's no reason why they should be. They'll all have resigned to pursue better career options by then. P.S. Wanna be provost? They're still looking...get your application in today! "It's more lucrative than law school, and a shorter time commitment, too!" I really feel sarcastic today. Must be all them finals or something... Happy vacation all... Scott
